The Book Without End

a tale within a tale

Scrolling descends through seven nested worlds, each hidden inside the last, and returns at the end to the first.

The Shop

A small bookshop at night, rain on the windows, an open antique book lit on its reading stand.

The Sea

A three-masted sailing ship on a moonlit sea, one round porthole glowing on its hull.

Beyond the page, the sea lay waiting.

The Cabin

A ship captain's cabin by candlelight, a glass snow globe resting on the chart table.

In the captain’s keeping, a winter slept.

The Village

A snowy mountain village at blue hour, a single cottage window glowing warm.

One window kept the night at bay.

The Attic

A writer's attic study at night, a gilded framed painting hanging on the wall.

Within, a world hung upon the wall.

The Observatory

An old domed observatory at night, a brass telescope eyepiece turned toward you.

And there, a glass was turned toward heaven.

The Star

Deep space: a nebula of ink blue, teal and amber around a single white-gold star.

Even the stars had a story within.
